Our Crowdfunding Groups
Last September, we in the UB community lost a beloved friend and colleague. Sara Piraino passed away after a long illness with Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy. Mother of twins Anthony and Adriana, Sarah was Secretary of the Professional Staff Senate, a dedicated member of the PSS Inclusion and Diversity Committee, a member of the Undergraduate Advisement Council and two-time chair of the WNY Advising Conference.
Those of you who knew Sarah from the PSS or from her work since 2005 as a counselor in the Educational Opportunity Program know that she was kind, passionate, and always willing to go above and beyond to help make each of our days better. She was a highly regarded by staff and students and is missed by many.
Her family and friends would like to memorialize her by having a bench and plaque placed on campus, a place where fellow members of the UB community can rest and reflect. Gifts made in memory of Sarah will be used to purchase a new bench and plaque similar to the one pictured below. We hope you will consider supporting this effort.
