UB Student Emergency Fund
In a world of uncertainty, unforeseen hardships can happen to anyone at anytime. Now more than ever, students may be experiencing circumstances that could impact their ability to remain enrolled. Through crowdfunding, we are raising money to sustain the Student Life Emergency Fund, helping UB students navigate through unexpected challenges.
Emergency funds are one-time financial grants to help a student directly in their time of need. While these funds cannot be used to cover tuition or fees, eligible expenses might include rent, food or a medical bill. Examples of emergencies include a serious accident or crime, sudden loss of income or death in the family. Students who apply for funds meet directly with student support staff in the Dean of Students Office.
Together, we can work to off-set short-term financial need for our students and continue to create a safe and supportive environment for student success.
A contribution at any level can help UB support a student during a time of financial need.
Emergency funds can provide groceries for students who may not have access to reliable food.
The unanticipated cost of travel home during a time of hardship can be supported with emergency funds.
