The University at Buffalo ASCE Student Chapter is excited to begin on our design projects to submit into national competition this year. Last year our Seismic Design Team placed 13th nationally in their competition held in San Diego. Unfortunately, last year both Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge were unable to compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although we could not compete last year, in the 2019 competition our Concrete Canoe Team placed 4th at the regional competition in Rochester, and our Steel Bridge Team placed 4th overall at the National Competition in Carbondale, Illinois. 

This year new rules were sent out and have brought new challenges for all design teams. The Concrete Canoe team has new mix restrictions, Seismic has new constraints on their building requirements and finally, steel bridge also has new rules due to competition possibly being virtual. 

Although competition this year might not look the same being virtual, we still need your support to buy the specialized materials and tools to help test our designs and continue to remain competing at a national level.
