At the School of Nursing, we are committed to fostering an environment that supports all individuals and values justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. These elements are fundamental to our core values of integrity, collaboration, accountability, respect for diverse backgrounds and opinions, and excellence.
As nurses who pledge to provide care for all human beings, we must take a stand against the structural and systemic racism that is ingrained in every aspect of our society. We seek to provide students, faculty and staff with the awareness, knowledge and skills to be effective and culturally competent individuals within their profession and within their communities.
But we cannot do this work alone.
Contributions to the School of Nursing’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Fund will sponsor guest speakers, workshops, consultants, professional development and other programmatic initiatives that promote justice, equity, diversity and inclusion within our school and the nursing profession. The university has challenged us to raise $25,000 for this fund by April 28 – and, if we reach this goal, the university has committed to matching all gifts up to $25,000, increasing the impact of your gift. All gifts big and small count towards our goal. For more information on how to make a multi-year pledge to this effort, please contact Amanda Rebeck, Associate Director of Advancement, School of Nursing at asrebeck@buffalo.edu or 716-645-2963.
