School Of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Diversity Initiatives

We, as the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, find racism, racial injustice, inequity and discrimination towards any group intolerable and unacceptable. It falls on every one of us -- faculty, staff, students and community -- to work together to eliminate racism and discrimination.

Our initiatives include:

  •  Recommend strategies to increase number of students, faculty, staff, mentors and preceptors from underrepresented background
  • Incorporate health disparities and cultural competence in future PharmD and pharmaceutical sciences courses
  • Developed mentorship program for Underrepresented in Pharmacy (UIP) students by UIP alumni
  • Student wellness clinics and student direct career mentorship in local underserved communities

Our Diversity and Inclusion Committee is composed of faculty, staff, students, alumni and preceptors from diverse backgrounds and cultural experiences, representing both the PharmD and the pharmaceutical sciences programs.

But we cannot do this work alone. Contributions to the schools diversity initiatives will sponsor guest speakers, workshops, consultants, professional development, and other programmatic initiatives, that promote diversity and inclusion and benefit the School Of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences community and beyond.
