At the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, we embrace diversity and strive to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment where our students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds and identities feel empowered to achieve their greatest potential. Through policies and programs, training and curriculum, and resources and investments, we are enhancing the recruitment and retention of all students, faculty, and staff, with a focus on historically underrepresented minorities, cultivating an environment of inclusive excellence, and monitoring and evaluating our programs so that our clinicians are equipped to meet and address the oral healthcare needs and inequities in our communities.
Leadership: Guiding our work is a leadership team comprised of faculty, staff, students, and community members who are committed to the School of Dental Medicine's mission to foster an inclusive and welcoming environment, where our students, faculty, staff, and patients of all backgrounds can achieve their greatest potential.
Programs: Future dentists must be prepared to meet oral healthcare needs of our increasingly diverse communities. Through a pipeline program, outreach programs, events, trainings, and curriculum, we are creating innovative programming that will ensure the diverse needs of all our patients - at UB and in the community - can be met.
But we cannot do this work alone. Contributions to the schools equity, diversity and inclusion fund will sponsor guest speakers, workshops, consultants, professional development, and other programmatic initiatives, that promote diversity and inclusion and benefit the School of Dental Medicine community and beyond.
