As one of the nation’s first Honors programs, the University Honors College continues to attract the best and brightest. Here, gifted scholars learn alongside UB’s distinguished faculty for an academic experience that is enriching and individualized. With opportunities to engage in rigorous coursework both in and out of their major—and to dive into experiential learning like research, internships and study abroad—Honors scholars are able to create their own academic path. And at the end of that specialized path, their career aspirations await.
Through an innovative curriculum and unique opportunities outside the classroom, the Honors College challenges academically gifted students to enrich their studies and explore their interests across the disciplines. By cultivating a small college setting that offers access to all the resources of a large research university, we foster leadership, independence, creativity, undergraduate research, global perspectives and civic engagement, and support students as they attain their personal and professional goals.
