Western New York has one of the highest prevalence rates of Multiple Sclerosis in the nation. Being born and raised in WNY, I feel compelled to help my friends, their loved ones, and members of my community suffering from this disease.
While advances are made every year in understanding MS and how to treat it, there is still no cure.
One of the premier MS research centers, The Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center, is located right here in Buffalo. A team of BNAC researchers are collaborating with The Boston Home, a residentential care facility in Boston, Massachusetts, in conducting the CASA-MS study which stands for Comprehensive Assessment of Severely Affected Multiple Sclerosis.
Funding is always a major obstacle for special studies such as this. Please, help support these researchers complete their work by donating any amount you can!
Your donation will be matched by The Annette Funicello Research Fund through a $100,000 matching grant and will help me reach my fundraising goal. What an incredible opportunity this is to make possible critical research that could benefit millions of people with MS all around the world and those living right near you and me.
I am so proud to be a member of Annette’s 100! Please join me in responding both to the Funicello Challenge and the researchers' determination to find answers. Together, we can provide hope for a brighter future for people with MS.
