Julio Ramirez, MPH/MSW `21, BA `18, tragically passed away on April 21, 2022.
Julio, affectionately known as “Chele” spent his early childhood in Freeport, New York. At a young age his family relocated to Bay Shore, New York where he graduated from Bay Shore High School in 2014. He attended the University at Buffalo where he received a dual Bachelors of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences, and Psychology in 2018. He then continued his education at the University at Buffalo and attained dual Masters in Public Health and Social Work in 2021. Julio worked at the New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center. His hobbies included podcasting, dancing, watching quality reality TV, spending time with friends, hiking, road trips, and traveling. Among his many trips he visited Ireland, France, UK, Portugal, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. He went to Puerto Rico to help rebuild homes.
In honor of his legacy, this fund will support a student within in the School of Public Health and Health Professions or the School of Social Work. The start date of this campaign is also symbolic as it coincides with Julio’s birthday – August 16.
