Announcing the Ann (Schuler) Duquin Memorial Scholarship
The Ann (Schuler) Duquin Memorial Scholarship is being established in memory of Ann Duquin, a UB SPPS Class of 1988 graduate. Ann was a class officer, Signa yearbook editor, and an officer in Kappa Psi professional pharmaceutical fraternity, among her many student activities. The scholarship will be presented to a P2-P4 PharmD student with good academic standing and demonstrated commitment to the SPPS and the profession of pharmacy through active participation and leadership in student organizations, such as student government, school ambassadors, professional fraternities, and student chapters of local and/or national professional pharmacy organizations.
We are reaching out to Ann’s former classmates, fellow UB SPPS alumni, and other friends and family to request tax deductible contributions to this scholarship endowment fund in her memory, with hopes of making it available to help a SPPS student in need as early as the next academic year. We are excited to announce that every donation will be matched dollar for dollar, up to the first $20,000 ($40,000 with the match), so your contribution will be automatically doubled! Additionally, if you – or your spouse’s - company participates in a Matching Gift program, please consider requesting a match for any donation you can make to the Duquin Scholarship. Please click on the “Give Now” button on the top of the page to donate today! Feel free to contact Leigh Yates (ltyates@buffalo.edu) with any questions you may have regarding matching or multi-years gifts, or how you can make a gift from a Donor Advised Fund or stock account. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

UB SPPS Class of 1988
The UB SPPS alumni community is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our dear friend and former classmate Ann (Schuler) Duquin after a courageous battle with cancer. Ann graduated with the Class of 1988 and was active in the school as a class officer, brother in Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, and class yearbook editor, among many others. Academically, she was a good student, but an even better friend and classmate. Several of her fellow SPPS classmates nicknamed her the “Class Mom,” as she so often took charge of various class and organizational activities and ensured that planned events were well organized and happened without incident. Ann often did this behind the scenes and never sought any accolades or recognition for contributing significantly to the well-being of the class and the school.
Ann was a committed pharmacist who worked for over 35 years delivering pharmaceutical care to the Western New York Community in a variety of practice settings. She precepted many pharmacy students throughout her career. She made an effort to stay connected to her UB classmates over the years, attending reunions and participating in the Kappa Psi Buffalo graduate chapter. Her strength, leadership, and dedication to her peers, patients, friends, and family profoundly touched all who knew her. Ann’s beloved husband Paul, daughters Alyssa (Fuoco) Dosztan, Emily Fuoco, and Jenna Duquin, and grandsons Myles and Beckett Dosztan all love and miss her dearly, as do the many, many others who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.Ann and her husband Paul, February 2023
