CRNA Appreciation Week

To kick off CRNA appreciation week 2024 we are working to raise awareness and support for the Ira P. Gunn Fund at the University at Buffalo School of Nursing. In addition to founding the program at UB, Ira was a premiere authority in the field of nurse anesthesia, and a prolific writer and educator.

This fund, which honors Ira’s legacy, provides assistance and opportunities for learning, networking, leadership, knowledge sharing and engagement for our students through attendance at professional conferences, guest lectures, student research, purchasing of equipment for the program and student recognition awards.

The CRNA program, currently ranked 7th out of 124 accredited programs in the United States, continues to thrive and grow in visibility and recognition.  Our faculty is devoted to providing our students the best educational experiences and are committed to supporting students through all stages of their academic journey and career.

Will you join us in our effort to grow this fund and it’s impact for our CRNA students?  As a former UB Nursing graduate, we humbly ask for your support of this fund to help our current students and your future colleagues, while also honoring Ira’s memory and commitment to this program and profession.

Testimonials:

"I am immensely grateful for the support provided by the Ira Gunn Fund throughout my academic journey. As a recipient of this invaluable resource, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative effects it has on the professional practice and development of aspiring nurse anesthetists. The financial assistance from the Ira Gunn Fund has relieved some of the burden of educational expenses, allowing me to focus wholeheartedly on my studies and clinical experiences. This support has not only lightened the financial load but has also afforded me the opportunity to attend additional workshops, conferences, and training sessions that enrich my knowledge and skills in the field."
