Dr. William J. Jusko Endowed Fund

Honoring a Legacy of Excellence

This new endowment is being created to honor Dr. Jusko’s exceptional contributions to the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, as well as his dedication to advancing the future of pharmacy education and research.

Dr. William J. Jusko, a SUNY Distinguished Professor and internationally renowned leader in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, has dedicated over 50 years to advancing the field of pharmaceutical sciences. His distinguished career in research, patient care, and education has profoundly impacted the lives of countless students, faculty, and scientists. Dr. Jusko’s research focuses on the disposition and pharmacological effects of drugs, particularly in optimizing the dosing of steroids, anti-diabetics, and cancer treatments. His groundbreaking work has led to significant advances in modeling the course of events following a drug’s delivery, improving therapeutic outcomes.

With more than 600 published research articles, Dr. Jusko is a leading authority in his field and has served on the editorial boards of numerous academic journals, including as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics. From 2001 to 2016, he served as chair of the UB Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, where he mentored more than 100 students and fellows who have gone on to make their own impactful contributions. The new endowment fund established in his honor will support innovative research and educational initiatives, ensuring that his legacy continues to inspire future generations. 

The Dr. William J. Jusko Endowment Fund aims to:

• Support Faculty Excellence: Provide resources to faculty members dedicated to advancing PK/PD and the pharmaceutical sciences.
• Enhance Research Initiatives: Promote innovative research projects that can drive significant advancements in the field.
• Advance Educational Programs: Support the development and enhancement of programs that enrich the student learning experience.
