UB Hacking is the University at Buffalo’s premier student-run hackathon and one of the most recognized events in the UB CSE community across Western New York. For over a decade, UB Hacking has been more than just a weekend of coding—it has been a launchpad for creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Each year, we attract over 800 applicants, with more than 550 students participating in an immersive 24-hour experience where ideas turn into reality.

Our mission is simple: provide students with the tools, mentorship, and environment to explore new technologies and solve real-world problems. And we want to continue offering this opportunity completely free of charge to every student who participates.

This year, however, we are turning to the UB community for help. With the current state of the economy and a projected decrease in sponsorships, traditional funding sources are not as reliable as in years past. Crowdfunding gives us the chance to bridge that gap and ensure UB Hacking 2025 remains an inspiring, inclusive, and accessible experience for all students.
