October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

This fall, we have 10 dedicated law students who are committed to ending domestic violence. The Clinic has focused its efforts on helping to empower survivors on economic issues by representing them in child and spousal support cases. Our Student Attorneys hit the ground running at the end of August and have been zealously advocating on behalf of their clients. On average, our student attorneys are representing clients in 2-3 court appearances a week. 

Your donation will go to support those that cannot afford an attorney to advocate on the behalf of them and their families.

Every year, the Domestic Violence Task Force hosts the Clothesline Project and invites students, faculty, and staff to design t-shirts to raise awareness of the prevalence of domestic violence.

Our Family Violence & Women's Rights Clinic joined the DVTF to create t-shirts for the Clothesline Project. Shirts are on display in the Doran Student Lounge for the month of October.

Your support means that we're able to send our Student Attorneys, like Vicki & Annabelle (pictured below), to court on behalf of our clients and gives us the opportunity to join the fight towards attaining justice and safety for victims of intimate partner violence in Western New York.
